Holiday Bacon Crack

Ingredients:

1 1/2 sleeves of saltine crackers

1 C butter

1 C brown sugar

2 TBL maple syrup

1 C cooked, chopped bacon

1/2 C dark chocolate chips

Dark Chocolate Chips

Vanilla Infused Maple Syrup

Parchment paper

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 
  2. Line full size cookie sheet with parchment paper. Careful to cover sides of pan as well.
  3. Lay out single layer of crackers on parchment, covering entire bottom of pan.  Break some in half if needed to cover entirely.
  4. In medium saucepan, melt butter, brown sugar and maple syrup over medium heat until fully combined and smooth.  Careful not to boil.
  5. Pour sauce evenly over crackers and top with crumbled bacon.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
  7. Remove from oven and allow to cool to room temperature.
  8. Melt dark chocolate over double boiler, stirring frequently until smooth.
  9. Drizzle chocolate with a drizzle spoon over the bacon.
  10. Refrigerate until hardened.
  11. Remove parchment paper and break apart with hands into individual brittle bacon crack pieces.
  12. Try not to eat it all yourself!
