Savory Salmon Cream Puffs
Our easy recipe for Savory Salmon Puffs will make you the star of any party or tailgate get together. Full of flavor and qucik to put together, it’s a win win.
Ingredients:
1 pouch/can of wild salmon (4-6 oz precooked)
3 oz softened cream cheese
2 TBL sour cream
3 TBL fresh chopped red pepper
1 1/2 C chopped fresh baby spinach
1 TBL chopped fresh chives
1 TBL chopped fresh dill
1 package puff pastry (thawed)
1 egg + TBL water (for egg wash)
Instructions:
1. Prep ingredients by chopping red pepper, spinach, chives, & dill and set all aside
2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
3. Spray standard size muffin tin (12 muffins) with non-stick oil
4. Cut pastry dough into 12 equal squares and fit these into the bottoms of the muffin tin to form the puff crusts.
Use a fork to prick bottoms and sides of pastry to prevent over-puffing of the dough while baking.
5. Make simple egg wash by whisking together 1 egg and 1 TBL water in small bowl
6. Brush puff pastry cups with egg wash
7. Place them in oven to bake 20 minutes or until puffed and lightly golden brown
8. Allow to cool completely.
9. Make filling by combining salmon, cream cheese, sour cream, red pepper, spinach, chives, and dill (but leave some dill, chives, and peppers to garnish)
9. Add filling to the cooled pastry puffs and sprinkle extra dill, chives and red peppers for garnish
Serve immediately or chill in refrigerator until guests are ready to enjoy!
